Merthyr Valleys Homes’ People Fund is seeking three trustees to join its Board.
About Merthyr Valleys Homes’ People Fund
Merthyr Valleys Homes’ People Fund was established as a charity in August 2014.
The principle objective is to relieve poverty or financial hardship in Merthyr Tydfil by assisting tenants of Merthyr Valleys Homes with losses following a major disaster or incident (for example without limitation flooding, fire or theft) where the tenant, through lack of finance or otherwise, would find it difficult to pay.
The charity is funded solely by Merthyr Valleys Homes Limited.
Join the Board
The Board currently draws on a range of skills and experience, and includes individuals with housing, business development and voluntary sector backgrounds.
We are looking for trustees who have skills and experience in charity governance, legal, and the voluntary sector, ideally with knowledge of the communities and areas that the charity exists to serve.
We would like to ensure that the Board is reflective of the communities in which we work, and would welcome applications from parts of the community which are not currently represented, including minority and ethnic communities and people with disabilities. We are aiming to ensure that our Board has a gender balance, and therefore are encouraging applications from both males and females. Having a diverse Board will help us to ensure that we are fair and open in all of our activities.
