From next week we will be starting some of our Grounds Maintenance services across our estates, this includes services such as litter picking, fly tipping removal and grass cutting.
We will be working safely in line with the current guidance from Welsh Government. Our programme of works has been developed by working in partnership with MTCBC to ensure that we are taking the necessary measures regarding social distancing from their work zones, so we will be covering different areas of the borough on different days to minimise the number of vehicles and people in certain areas so that you can still access open space for your exercise.
Our plan is based on priority and risk, and we are taking a phased approach. We will start by dealing with essential works to address any health and safety concerns, removing fly tipping and undertaking grass cutting in key areas, such as maintaining sight lines at junctions. We will then move on to other key areas, including grass cutting in and around our Community Living Schemes, and at those locations where our tenants require access to green spaces as they do not have a garden space. We will return to grass cutting across all of our estates after the priority areas have been addressed. We will be reviewing our programme weekly.
Whilst we cannot provide timescales for services in particular areas or streets, please be assured that we are working as quickly as possible to introduce services safely and as ever we are putting the safety of our communities and our staff first. We thank you for your ongoing patience.
