Merthyr Valleys Homes was launched in March 2009 after tenants voted to transfer their homes to a new not-for profit housing association. We own and manage around 4,300 homes in the Merthyr Valleys area.

By listening to our tenants, we make sure the homes and services we provide meet local needs. The transfer of homes to Merthyr Valleys Homes took place so that tenants would benefit from more home improvements and better services. It means that by 2015, all homes will have been brought up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard, which would not have been possible if homes had stayed with the council.

In our first five years, we will deliver a £69.5 million improvement programme to fulfil our promises to tenants.
