We are a forward thinking housing association that owns and manages over 4,200 properties in Merthyr Tydfil.
On 1st May 2016 we became the first mutual housing organisation in Wales, giving our tenants and employees the opportunity to own a share in the organisation by becoming a member. Having a share in the organisation allows members to have their say, and they have control over the running and future direction of the organisation. Our members will help us to continue to improve our services and by working together we will meet the growing needs and aspirations of our tenants, our employees and our local communities.
We are looking for a candidate who will use their skills and expertise to help us deliver our plans, and who shares our values and our passion for making a difference in our communities. In return, you will get experience of working as a Non-Executive Director with a dynamic Board, directing an organisation with a strong future.
For this role the Board would welcome candidates with strategic housing experience, preferably someone who has held a senior role in a housing association or similar. We welcome applications from all sectors of the community to reflect the diversity of our customers.
If this is you and you are interested in helping shape the future of our mutual then we would like to hear from you.
This is a voluntary position, but all reasonable expenses incurred whilst engaging in Board duties will be met.
If you are excited about this opportunity, and would like more information about Merthyr Valleys Homes and the role, please download the Board Member Recruitment Pack.
