We are starting to remobilise some of our external works where it is safe to do so, and where the local community have been consulted with and are comfortable for the works to commence.

A project that we are going to re-start on Monday 8 June is the rendering of the front and rear of some homes in Cilhaul, Treharris. This work will be completed by a company called Joyners on behalf of MVH. The safety of our tenants, communities, staff and contractors is paramount, and therefore, all works to be undertaken are in line with the current Welsh Government guidance around safe working practices. Joyners have provided us with all of their safe working method statements. We are also installing wall ties by drilling if required, and will try to keep noise to a minimum as much as we can. This work will take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to complete.

We have spoken with many of our tenants in the area to check they are happy for the works to restart and for those that we have been unable to contact directly, letters have been posted to them and our neighbouring homes.

We are aware of a local funeral that is taking place in the local community on Tuesday 9 June – out of respect we have asked Joyner’s not to undertake works on that day to keep the area free from construction traffic and noise. Our thoughts will be with the family and the surrounding community.

We are hoping to recommence other works in the coming weeks and months across the borough. We will continue to do so cautiously and with the safety of our tenants, the community, our staff and contractors at the forefront of any plans that we make. We thank everyone for their patience and support during these challenging times.
