Online
To pay your rent
online just follow the on-screen instructions. Please note that this will take you to the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council website. The Council are currently taking our online payments.
Direct debit
This is the simplest and safest way to pay. It means your rent is paid directly to us, from your bank account. You can choose to pay either weekly or four weekly. Weekly payments are taken from your bank account every Friday, unless it falls on a Bank Holiday when payments will be taken the next working day. Four weekly payments are taken on dates pre-set by the Rent system and are non-amendable.
To pay rent by direct debit, simply download and fill in the
direct debit form and send it to our offices:

Standing order
This is very similar to direct debit but you set up the details directly with your bank, rather than through us. You can choose to pay on any date and either weekly, four weekly or monthly, in advance. One drawback of paying by standing order is that if your rent is altered you will have to amend your standing order amount. Also payments made by standing order can take on average 2 weeks to reach your rent account. This is done automatically when you pay by direct debit.
To pay by standing order, fill in the
standing order form and give this to your bank.
