
GRANTS AND SPONSORSHIP
MVH aims to be more than a social landlord.
We want to invest in the lives of our tenants and the local community in ways that will improve people’s quality of life. This is the purpose of the Grant and Sponsorship Scheme.
Our award scheme is open for voluntary/community groups, social enterprises, and charities to apply.
OVERVIEW
The Panel have £30,000 to award during the year, which is distributed through three rounds of applications.
The scheme is split into 2 categories: Grants or Sponsorship.
GRANTS
- Up to £3000 for constituted groups
- Up to £500 for non-constituted groups
SPONSORSHIP
- Up to £500 per group
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
There are some terms and conditions when applying for either a Grant or a Sponsorship, including:
- The project must be based in Merthyr
- The project can only receive one award in a financial year
- We will not fund the same items/project year after year
✔ WE WILL FUND
Projects that promote health & well-being, improve the local environment, enhance community skills, reduce isolation & loneliness, build community connections, and support new groups.
We will also fund equipment & materials, venue hire (up to 6 weeks for taster sessions, these need to be the first weeks of set up), tutor costs (up to 6 weeks, these need to be for the first few weeks of set up), and community events.
✘ WE WILL NOT FUND
- Any statutory/publicly funded organisations
- Salaries or payments to affiliated third parties
- Political or religious activities
- Fundraising events
- Social trips (except in rare cases)
- Building repairs (except in rare cases)
- Sports kits or uniforms
- Projects outside Merthyr Tydfil
- Individual applications or benefits
- Core/contingency costs, utilities, rent
- Any costs before approval
- Business start-up costs
