Merthyr Valleys Homes in partnership with TFW (Transport for Wales) is encouraging sustainable travel by offering tenants free access to secure cycle hangar spaces.

The cycle hangers are in Caedraw. Under the new Cycle Hangar Licence Agreement, tenants can store their bicycles safely in designated hangars at no cost.

The initiative aims to make cycling more convenient and secure for tenants. Each licence holder will be allocated a specific space and provided with a key. The hangars are designed for standard bicycles only, meaning cargo bikes, e-bikes, and bikes with oversized attachments cannot be accommodated.

Merthyr Valleys Homes will maintain the structure and exterior of the hangars, but tenants are responsible for keeping their space clean and reporting any damage. While the service is free, residents are advised to purchase insurance their bicycles, as the association is not liable for loss or theft.

This initiative reflects Merthyr Valleys Homes’ commitment to promoting greener transport options and supporting tenants who choose to cycle.
